Fine, quality pods of exceptional length. They can reach 50cm (20” long) and are ideal for the show bench. Good cropper with a great taste.
Runner beans do best in a sunny, sheltered position where they are not effected by the wind. They require a deep, fertile soil that has had lots of well-rotted compost or manure dug into it.
Runner Beans are frost tender and can only be sown outdoors when the chance of frost as passed. Sow seeds 5cm (2″) deep into small pots undercover April/May; harden off and plant out once the risk of frost has passed.
Plant 23-30cm (9-12″) apart.
Space rows 60cm (2ft) apart.
