A traditional favourite still widely grown under glass and in the open air. Excellent flavour and very productive with large trusses of nicely flavoured, smooth-skinned, bright scarlet fruits.
An indeterminate (cordon) variety—requires support & side shooting.
Tomatoes need full sun and rich, fertile soil that has either had compost or manure dug into it or had a general high-phosphorous fertiliser or pellets of poultry manure added to it. Only add lime if the soil is very acid.
Sow 2cm (¾”) deep.
Plant 38-45cm (15-18″) apart.
Space rows 90cm (36″) apart.
