Globe shaped, with pure, white, solid flesh, and sweet, mild flavour. Best harvested when the root is no larger than a tennis ball, or smaller. Fast crop, 5 to 8 weeks from sowing, with nutritious and tasty tops. Can be served grated raw in salads or as side dish.
Turnips are not fussy but grow well in soil high in nitrogen and with a neutral pH of 6.5-7.
Sow 2cm (¾”) deep.
Thin to 5-10cm (2-4″) apart.
Space rows 23-30cm (9-12″) apart.
